Exceptional Colombian straw marquetry course

A unique opportunity to discover ancestral know-how and experience a true cultural exchange with Colombia!

We are pleased to once again welcome Diégo Andrés DelaCruz, Colombian master craftsman, for three exceptional days dedicated to the discovery of Colombian straw marquetry and the encounter with a culture rich in traditions.

Much more than just technical training, this course is an invitation to travel and share. Through demonstrations, creations and discussions with the artist, participants will discover the history, traditions and heritage of the Nariño region, the cradle of this exceptional craft. 

You will be introduced to Enchapado en Tamo, an ancestral technique consisting of cutting, tinting and assembling thin strips of straw in order to create geometric, figurative or decorative patterns of remarkable finesse.

During these three days, Diégo Andrés DelaCruz will transmit not only its artisanal know-how, but also a part of the Colombian cultural identity which nourishes its work. This immersion will allow participants to understand the close links between craftsmanship, territory, traditions and contemporary creation.

In a friendly atmosphere encouraging exchanges, everyone will be able to progress at their own pace while living a unique human and cultural experience.

- Prerequisites

No prerequisites technique is not necessary.

Good manual dexterity and a taste for meticulous work are however recommended.

- Cancellation terms

Due to the organization of the artist's international trip, any registration is firm and definitive. No refund can be made in the event of cancellation by the participant.

- Limited places

In order to guarantee personalized support and to promote the quality of exchanges with the artist, the number of participants is voluntarily limited. Reserve your place now for this unique experience combining the transmission of rare know-how, cultural discovery and human encounter.

- Organizational arrangements

In order to facilitate your arrival, a list of accommodation located near the course location will be sent to you by e-mail upon simple request or automatically 1 month before the internship date.

For the lunch break, several solutions will be offered:

• You can order a meal from the partner restaurant located nearby at a price of €14 per package. Meals will be delivered directly to the course location.
• You will also be able to bring your own meal.

A break room with equipped kitchen (hob, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, tables and chairs) will be made available to participants to allow them to have lunch on site in the best conditions.

These break times will also be an opportunity to continue discussions with Andrés DelaCruz and the other participants in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
